My background
Empowering students to become better
International Experience
I trained in the UK and then worked in IB schools in Peru and Colombia before moving to Togo. I returned to the UK for a few years and then moved to Belgium where I taught the European Baccalaureate at the European School in Uccle followed by Cambridge IGSCE and A-Level at ISF. I am currently teaching A-Level Mathematics at the Brussels International Catholic School.
Extensive Tutoring Experience
I have helped many students over the years, from addressing basic misconceptions in arithmetic and exam preparation to guiding them through projects such as the IB's Internal Assessment. My long experience working with young people means I can identify and address quickly the key misunderstandings.
Passion for Teaching
I love teaching. I love the moment when the penny drops, when students gain the self-belief to tackle problems themselves and need me less and less. I want them to say 'Thank you, I'm fine now. I know where you are if I need you in the future'. My aim is to be redundant.
Flexibilty
Whether it is regular meetings or one-off sessions I believe in being there when needed. To this end I don't have a long list of clients as I want to be available as soon as the need arises, be it a quick online session or a longer face-to-face session. It maybe some homework help, it may be to calm nerves before a test. No-one performs well when anxious.
